The Grow Programme launched in October 2020 and is a communication programme designed to support the development and confidence of our teams’ numeracy, digital literacy and general communication among many other skills.

Our teams’ great achievements are testament to Upskills for making the course so engaging and our team for their continuous effort and willingness to learn and grow.
Run by Upskills, the course included a variety of activities, such as learning to do volumetric calculations, learning the ‘Top 30 Piritahi words’, improving computer competency, forming innovation ideas and presenting them at a Toolbox talk, and even a visit to Onehunga library to learn about the free services and resources available through the library system.
The goal of the programme was to help our construction teams continue to thrive in their roles at Piritahi, but also support their personal development outside of work. Many taking part in the programme work only on site and rarely need to use computers, so it was big achievement when one of the final sessions was hosted virtually during lockdown with ease. The group’s ability to adapt to online learning in a short space of time was one of the many great examples of how far they’ve come.
We’re so proud of what they have achieved and looking forward to seeing more of our people take part in future intakes.
