Land Development Engineer (Senior)

LEAD Alliance is seeking a Senior Land Development (LD) Engineer (Design Engineering) with major project experience to work on New Zealand’s largest brownfield development to transform Auckland.

The Senior Land Development Engineer will report to the Design Principle within the Land Development Team. The principal purpose of the Senior Engineer role is to

proactively deliver the TOC designs in accordance with the TOC program, engineering and council standards and will support their design delivery teams by providing technical review and oversight of design packages.

What you will be doing:

  • Understand the project requirements in the context of the wider Neighbourhood Plan in conjunction with the Neighbourhood Design Manager (NDM) and Design Principle (DP).
  • Collaborate with the Construction team to ensure the design is constructable, cost effective and safe.
  • Ensure a realistic program is in place and identify opportunities and resource needs across the program.
  • Identify and notify the NDM, PM, and DP of potential risks to the design's delivery and take ownership of bringing the design milestones back on track.
  • Embed quality assurance using the Alliance quality assurance systems, including implementation, active management, and reporting during the project's design, construction, and handover phases.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil/Land Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience within the Civil Engineering or Land Development industry
  • Good knowledge and application of design and visualisation software such as AutoCAD & 12D Model is required.
  • Good design knowledge of Civil Engineering services (including preparation of earthworks models, stormwater, wastewater and water supply systems and urban roads)
  • Good knowledge of Auckland Council Code of Practice (CoP) in all disciplines, and approval and completion processes
  • Ability to be proactive, change focused and challenge status quo in a constructive way
  • Positive approach, self-motivation, willingness to learn
  • Be able to work collaboratively as part of a bigger team.
